Looks like someone on ukc has logged an ascent of meltdown, anyone know if it's legit?

Not me either, in case anyone was wondering, but IIRC Ian Cooper was projecting it. Looks like Franco has gone incognito and there’s photos of him on ukc trying to redpoint it.

Not me.  Going to get back on it this spring hopefully.  Franco or Mat Wright maybe?

I can see Franco's logbook on UKC, and he has logged it. Great effort  :clap2:

Waddage! Third ascent after Caff and Ignacio Mulero?

Ed: quite a jump from his previous best on sport too I think? He wasn't on the 8c or harder list...

Waddage indeed! Quite an incredible follow up to the controversy of his last accent. Certainly showcases his ability and adds a little perspective to the proposed difficulty of his own routes.

Feck! What a grade jump! I’m not totally sure he’s climbed 8a sport before. I’m not even going to ask him.

Well done, Franco.

Odd that those photos are the ones when he was working it in 2019.

he controversy of his last accent.

He sounded sort of vaguely Yorkshire last time I saw him on video, is he going to go full Welsh now? :)

Well done Franco.

Is it? Would be a pain to get someone out to take photos every time you went to try it, and I imagine you'd get some god awful bum shots if you asked your belayer to get some snaps. Makes sense to use some quality pics from a while ago if you want something nice for insta.

Can't wait to hear what Andy F has to say. Just chucking an absolutely astonishing wild guess out there, but I think he might be sceptical! Has Franco done the Meltdown or did he use another hold? Jesus, lets hope there's full videos of every ascent to date. I reckon this has to be at least 20 pages worth. What an absolute waste of my precious time. Good job I have nothing else constructive to do. Looking forward to it.

Excellent news, he's proven he's capable on hard sport as well as bold snappy trad. Well done youth.

Strong day at the bowderstone for Bosi. 4X+1 flash, flip flopera third go and flipnic (must have taken more than 3 goes, punter).

Well, it's a hard sport slab. It'll be interesting to see him try something more than 5⁰ beyond the vertical. But, he knows his own strengths (and weaknesses) and plays to them.
