Hello,
Anyone N.Leeds/Otley way any heads up on whether the Cliff is viable this afternoon (thurs) - or how local conditions are (wet pavements/walls etc..)? 3T in Leeds thought it was marginal...
I've a chance to get out on my way from Hull > Manc, but can't take too much of a punt on the conditions....
Cheers, TT

I can see the airport from Horsforth way.
Tarmac damp
Gentle breeze
Walls dry
Paving stones dry

That said, there was a marked difference between here and the Wharf valley at the weekend. Guiseley and Chevin were dry with brilliant sunshine, Otley was shrouded in mist.
Might hit Almscliff tonight with a lamp if it stays like this

Thanks Andy, yeah, walls dry is normally my metric... and I've encountered mist in the valley and not oop top..
Hmm... my psycheometer is falling :(

Was it raining up at the cliff today like it was in Leeds? Going to sit under underhand tomorrow afternoon :)

Probably - though looking at the forecast tomorrow's half decent - and the cliff dries in 1/2 hour (well bits do!).

Might see you there if I can escape work...

The cliff is pretty good at staying dry :) Hopefully any showers will just blow straight past

Keep the faith, I've driven out to the cliff when it's looning it down in Leeds to find the cliff dry whilst the showers pissed down Wharfedale. It has its own weather system and it's impossible to predict. Then again, I was with uptownguru at the time so he probably controlled the weather to his advantage.

Yep, you're completely right. I was just pointing out that the sunshine predicted this morning was replaced by a heavy shower in Guiseley. It has been pretty much the opposite to what they've predicted since sat lunch

Thanks for the heads up Andyd. Decided against going if theres a strong chance of it being wet. I'm not feeling too well as it is and a send would have been unlikely. An indoor board session will have to be the order of the day.

Usual Almscliff rules (which I'm sure you know by now).. If its windy (it is) then much of it will be dry an hour or two after rain.. I'd keep an eye on the radar for when the next batch of rain from the SW is coming..

All good there this afternoon - except it was baltic in the wind... 3 degrees by the car and a strong northerly - I dread to think what the wind chill was, but I was hiding around by sloper patrol in between Keel flails. If the northerly keeps up I'd bring your double down layers ;)
It was OK and sheltered by DWR area.
