Demon Wall and Syrett's Roof areas were great today until about 4pm when the sun started to drop. There looked to be more snow on the Low Man boulders, but the odd thing was still doable. The road up to the crag was slippery but passable. Unfortunately, it dumped it down with snow for the next two hours, so I'd imagine it might take a few days to clear up again.

Aye, and any heads up on how the roads are..

The road up from Huby was almost completely snow-free yesterday - just a few icy patches. Much less snow on the rock compared to last friday - just a question of how quickly it melts tomorrow I guess.

Taken yesterday:

Great conditions Tues day (baltic Wed!)... But a lot of defrosting been going on in N Leeds today- reckon there'll be a fair bit of melt-water from now until refreezing (Sat night according to the Beeb). Then subsequent ice ont' rock... Wouldn't risk travelling any distance personally.

NW Leeds has almost completely defrosted & was very moist... I've driven the A65 tonight & it's pretty much the same. Quite decent forecast for tomorrow & a small breeze... So it could be good (there's almost always summat in at the Cliff), but it's a bit of a gamble. Probably worth noting that the Depot has a comp/party on tomorrow- depending on wether that appeals or not...

Very windy and overcast in Ilkley all day - suspect the same for tomorrow.  Not too cold mind - but very damp as a result.  Probably managable for you hardcore types but would frankly strike me as an exercise in martyrdom to tickage

60% ok. If it's in the sun dry, if not ice and frost covered.

Good session at the Cliff today - good conditions where the sun had been shining (Demon Wall area, Si's Arete,  Underhand was dry) - though as I posted from the crag above where it was in the shade - frosty and the rock covered with ice (rime ice?)..

Just wondering if anyone's got the word on conditions up in Yorkshire? Am heading back from the flatlands in the next couple of days, hoping to get out and finally knock off Demon Wall Roof before New Year's...

TommyTwoZone was up there yesterday and tweeted this "twas dry enough - most of top tier OK but bits of DWR section were dripping!"

Though looking at the rain radar I suspect it's had some drizzle/clag since then...

Cheers.
Think I'll just suck it up and wait for tomorow, hopefully more dry rock then.

Indeed - it's not looking too great at the missus' place near Ilkley (in fact just started raining!) so I think you might have a fruitless trip...

Fingers crossed for next couple of days, would like to get at least one day's decent climbing done this holiday!
