Almscliff Conditions
November 04, 2008, 05:16:22 pm
Have a day of freedom tomorrow (Wednesday) with the youth but the weather is looking broadly not so good. So I'm thinking of questing over to the cliff of good conditions even when all around is wet. Any chance of an Almscliff local giving me an early morning shout on the weather and likely conditions. It would be much appreciated.
Cheers folks.

I'll give you a heads up early morn Nik. I may even join you if it's smelling good over here - don't hold your breath though.

Just been past that way. Drizzly shit weather same forecast tomorrow, but it's the Cliff so only needs an hour of dry and some wind and...

Cheers Uptownguru. I'll probably be leaving at 9:00am and unless I hear otherwise I'll be heading Peakwards (also likely to be wet but can visit the Works and a couple of friends), but I'm keen for a Cliff visit should the weather be favourable, assuming I can persuade my Peak based pal to enter deepest darkest Yorkshire....

It's wet - might improve later though I doubt it. West looks best.

Any idea if it's likely to be alright over the weekend, ideally Saturday?  Or do I need to wait until nearer the time to have a good idea?

Saturday looks good according to metcheck.com though I can give you better beta by looking out of my window nearer the time.

Friday Report -
9.45am
Sun has come out for the first time since Monday. Sky is clearing and rock will be drying. I reckon it'll be good by lunch.

And indeed it was. Lovely cold afternoon. I feel quite positive for tomorrow too - I'll post first thing.

The Cliff dries so quickly it's worth the risk.

If you're going are you wearing those legwarmers?  I only ask 'cos Will Hunt would

Of course I'll be wearing leg warmers, it's mandatory in the winter months.  I may also bust out my special wrist warmers too.  I doubt I'll manage to look as good as her ^ though.  :(

I have never seen Compo climb, but i can now imagine it after Wills passable impression at the Wall on Tuesday.

Hunt'll be there.
Course he will, we might even collect him off the train.  It's time for his regular squeezing.  ;D
