Worst thing about that is the original decision of the CPS no to do anything about it.

That's the problem, not that an individual is racist. Bar observing that he was obviously comfortable behaving that way in front of other colleagues you cannot infer much about the institution. Most police would/will be disgusted by him. But the CPS??!

Unable to distinguish between "Good" and Evil"?

At a Mass on Saturday, [Pope Benedict XVI] warned that mankind is "groping in the darkness, unable to distinguish good from evil".

I reckon I could give it a go:

How would you classify this then? Right. Wrong. Good. Or Evil?

The Catholic Church is telling people in countries stricken by Aids not to use condoms because they have tiny holes in them through which HIV can pass - potentially exposing thousands of people to risk.
The church is making the claims across four continents despite a widespread scientific consensus that condoms are impermeable to HIV.

Re the bank holiday thing. What a load of bollocks.

Quote
A fortnight ago the Governor of the Bank of England, Mervyn King, warned that GDP in the second quarter of this year might shrink owing to the number of bank holidays.

Which would prove what Mervyn? That people had a couple more days off. Not that fewer jobs were being created or businesses were failing etc etc. Jesus.. fucking.. christ.

As I get neither company pension nor paid holidays neither of these things affects me however I can still tell right from wrong. Bunch of cunts.

That public holiday comparison thing is also a load of shit & obviously meaningless as Americans get far fewer holidays than we do. Suppose that's the difference between "public" and "statutory minimum" or something?

Speaking as a company Director... (read "self employed" ).
I am truly alarmed at the de-humanising, right wing, elitist crap; the current Government and cronies keep coming up with.

Peasants! Know your place!

And I'm supposed to agree with them, as a proponent of a free market.

I don't.

I see no reason a free market should require the subjugation of people, or lead to privilege (as in "private law") and elite status for the few.

Bring back Democracy!

That's my status too.

It's part of the great con. They wheel out these proposals as having the support of "business leaders" (e.g. the reduction of the 50p rate) when what they actually mean is a few extremely rich people who contribute to their party funding.

When you look past the bullshit the actual policies do nothing for small businesses but help massively profitable large companies and wealthy individuals. We hear loads about how great the reduction in Corporation Tax is supposed to be for business but companies only pay the full rate of CT if they make profits (that's net profit after every trick you can pull to reduce it) of over £1.5m.

The Small companies rate remains at 20% with no reduction likely in the future while things that directly affect small companies such as Employers NI (increased by 1% last year making it more costly to employ people) and the Annual Investment Allowance (cut from £100k to £25k thereby shafting those wanting to invest in machinery etc) are made worse.

Being a proponent of business and the free market now means opposing most Tory policy because that certainly is not what they're supporting. Interestingly this has always been the case (feather the nests of the few while dressing it up as being the party of business/economic sense) but people still fall for it. The great con.

This could be bad news for some of us if, say, Sting [or Bonio] get wind of this:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1088838

Quote
blogger and tweeter – Olly Cromwell – was found guilty on Friday, 13th April, simply for swearing at a Bexley, London, councillor in a Twitter message.

The prosecution alleged he called a senior Bexley councillor a ‘cunt’ and are seeking a custodial sentence of 45 days for each letter of the word.
