This part of story hasn't caught the public's interest as much as hacking the phones of dead kids and servicemen's families (of course) but is actually more damning.

These scumbags are involved in intimidation, perverting the course of justice and probably murder and it definitely goes right to the top.

Quote
Scotland Yard chose not to mount a formal inquiry. Instead a senior press officer contacted Brooks to ask for an explanation. She is understood to have told them they were investigating a report that Cook was having an affair with another officer, Jacqui Hames, the presenter of BBC Crimewatch. Yard sources say they rejected this explanation, because Cook had been married to Hames for some years; the couple had two children, then aged two and five; and they had previously appeared together as a married couple in published stories."The story was complete rubbish," according to one source.

Fucking filth.  :chair:

This is truly incredible.

So have sainsburys - (just seen your edit J) though as someone on fivelive said, If they pulled the 'screws' from the shelves that would make a difference... but they wont.

Interesting article on BBC yesterday from adversiting exec, saying many advertisers would be in fear of the Guardians (probable) list of those who did advertise that will appear on Monday...

Ha ha. Yeah I know!

This is fascinating. How Brooks and even Murdoch can be prosecuted:

http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/andreas-whittam-smith/andreas-whittam-smith-if-we-dont-act-now-worse-will-follow-2307923.html

Edit - thats a great read...

"News International, a large and powerful media organisation, Mr Murdoch's company, systematically invades people's privacy through phone hacking, corrupts the police by making large payments to individual officers, and compromises fair trials as a result of publishing reports that are likely to prejudice juries."

BOOM...

Does that get Tesco off the hook then, or is the damage to their rep already done?

About the beginning of September I reckon.

sunonsunday.co.uk and .com registered on 5th of july.

same scumbags will be running this.

i hope that coulson, brooks et al are brought to justice and that people realise murdoch isn't the person we want running our media.

if you haven't already you should write to your mp. only takes a minute and might save us from further erosion of our already compromised democracy

andy coulson to be arrested tomorrow - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/07/andy-coulson-arrest-phone-hacking

I think there's a lot more to come from all this. Sacking 200 people isn't conducive to making them keep their mouths shut...
