I like the way that they make out that the cat knew exactly where it was going despite the fact that:
a) It's a cat
b) It has a can on its head.
c) It's a cat with a can on its head.

Genius quote under the photo:

It is thought the cat may have been scavenging for food when it became stuck in the empty pet food can

Tesco in "are cunts" shocker.

From @jim_p_thompson on Twitter.

Not disagreeing with the fact that large supermarkets have despicable policies, but I really can't see the problem here.

Holiday prices are artificially inflated in periods where demand increases (i.e. school holidays).

Under a free market shops can choose to charge what they want, if a customer thinks they're being ripped off at that price they can go elsewhere to buy it, irrespective of how much extra effort it is.  Each individual will (or should) weigh up the convenience of purchasing at a higher price against having to go elsewhere.  Its why a pint of milk is more at your local corner shop than it is at a supermarket, convenience.

It doesn't help that everywhere has continual/perpetual "Offers" or "Promotions" on giving the impression that items are cheaper than their RRP.

Besides which the price on the shelf isn't fixed in stone anyway.  Technically its an offer to sell the item at that price and a customer is well within their rights to haggle (not that I've ever bothered to haggle over the price of a packet of Walkers Sensations, but if I thought it were too high I'd walk away).

As for the stuff about loyalty cards tracking purchasing habits and being used by the supermarkets.... :o really I'd never have imagined that they could be so unscrupulous!  Anyone who thinks they're getting something for nothing with one of these is a fool, its all factored into the cost of what you're buying anyway.

Fortunately the cunts don't always get their way

Bugger, I was about to win a hundred thousand pounds in their sweepstake.

Must have spent all their money on stupid direct mailing.

It's a pension fund deficit that's fucked em.

I got one of their "YOU MIGHT HAVE WON" letters the other day. They really do go to a lot of trouble don't they? Such a waste of paper but at least I recycle.

Noel's quote about him just before Oasis split up sums him up perfectly I reckon:
Quote
“He’s never seen my little lad, just pictures,” Noel said of his brother.

“To a stranger it sounds ludicrous, but you wouldn’t have him in the house if he spoke to you the way he speaks to me and my family.

“He’s rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy. He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”

More tea potatoes Vicar?

HA HA! I can't believe he went for the old "I was hanging curtains while naked and fell onto the potato" excuse. Brilliant.

What's your current fave?  I nipped down to the fridge in the middle of the night and decided to do some naked dead hanging on the finger board when I got a flash pumped and slipped and landed on the <item>

Seriously though, isn't this a bit of a breach of patient confidentiality?

It'd take a big man indeed indeed to strut into A&E in a dog collar and cassock and say "check it out I've been bumming myself with a kind edwards".

I'd have gone for "I was just putting the recyling out in my dressing gown when a 24hour potato delivery van backed into my front garden wall, pelting me with a ton of spuds - I naturally ducked for cover, and what you see here is the unfortunate side effect of that course of action".

The chances are that they wouldn't believe he was a vicar so it would be a good double bluff.

But then again I'm sure Edward is kind enough not to get stuck.

Dunno, could you identify him based on "vicar/clergyman in his 50s"?   If he can't be identified then his confidentiality hasn't been breached (IMO).

I guess if he had a bit of a bandy legged swagger when walking it might give it away.

The story date from October 2008 too so its a bit old.
