Also using compulsory purchase orders to buy land for an individual to develop is utter bullshit. But then he has got the backing of the Scottish Government who overturned the council's initial decision not to let him buid, due to widespread public opposition.

The whole thing stinks. He is essentially building a luxury housing estate with a golfcourse attached to it. The dunes are a SSSI, and would be windblown and in the haar for a lot of the time. If he wants to build it somewhere, why not go and offer a farmer on Deeside a nice chunk of cash for some of his fields. Plus all the golf playing management at work think it will be fucking great, as if there was a shortage of golf courses in the area.
