The Apple watch really tests the limits of how much morons are prepared to be ripped off. I bet they sell millions of them.

I bought two. One for each wrist. Goes well with my Fitbit and Jawbone.

Brilliant. Reminds me of a Brit we met hitching to Font years ago. He was trying to get home, had spent all his money in Paris and was bitterly disappointed.

"Abroad is totally overrated" he said.

The (mostly white) people getting upset at Obama for using the N word on Mark Marons podcast is hilarious. What's funny is all those same people have essentially been calling the guy the N word via dog whistle articles and politics since he got elected. Cunts of the highest order (I'm not Obama's biggest fan but still, better than bush!)

As far as "Da News" goes, it's not been a good day. Thoughts with all those involved, both those RIP and family and friends.

Essentially...
Mum excludes only daughter from will, leaves it all to charity, leaves a letter to explain why her daughter isn't getting anything...then the judge overrules and gives the daughter a lump sum. Precedent now set. Buuuuuullllssshhhiii.....ttttt.

On the basis that said reason was insufficient.
I kinda agree with the judge.
Note, she was only given a 1/3rd share of the estate, despite being an only child.
The judge also considered the financial circumstance of the daughter and (I think rightly) realised the financial burden on the state would be reduced, long term, and that was of greater public interest than the charitable donation.

Almost logical, by the standards of the British legal system...

It seems that the deceased may have been a "harsh" person but, nutter or not, I don't see why it should be for a judge to decide whether their wishes, made with full capacity, are reasonable or not.
I don't see why the long term net benefit to the state or public interests should come into the matter at all once inheritance tax has been paid. We're talking about somebody's private estate, not state property.

I honestly can't see how this judgement has passed.

There must be instances of financial activity in the UK that would more beneficially impact the 'long term financial burden on the state and the public good', than people's choice of last wills..

Cutting the lords by 70% would save a few bob
