Eh?  You can now get arrested for being an entrepenaur in America?  Surely theres nothing wrong with selling these things, its using them that is fraudulent (or conspiratorial as the article reports)?

Surely it's conspiring to commit fraud? For example if someone engraved some plates for printing false banknotes, but never actually produced or passed a fake banknote themselves. They are just as much part of it.

Then they are clearly idiots and should have opted for an alternative marketing strategy.

Then clear your browser cache!

Depends on what browser your using, but its easy enought to clear the history and stored images from most browsers cache.

Consider browsing/reading UKB via a proxy server to help avoid such problems in the future.

And my apologies for not adding a corollary to the link  :)

It's a busy day for the Da News thread today.

After bringing you alternative bibles earlier I now present a slight issue with zoo's polar bear breeding program followed by face book bill dodgers!

Ha, Linux is slowly, but insidiuosly taking over the world (of geeks)!

Its used in a device which allows you to switch your kettle on from your phone.  Shame I don't drink tea or coffee  ::)

I hope Nokia adopt and further develop this linux OS for their phones over their symbian OS

Hooray!!!!  The European Courts are useful for sometimes.

They've unanimously ruled that the retention of DNA samples and data of two men (from S. Yorks incidentally, Jas & Lager you've kept that quiet  :P) who were not convicted of ANY crime contravines their human rights.

This has massive implications for the worlds largest DNA database, which is the UKs and which you get stuck on if your arrested for anything (thats right, you simply have to be arrested, not charged, tried or convicted at present).

I've always had issues with this database (even though I'm not on it) as they only use 16 or 17 polymorphic loci and given the heavy bias in the database towards ethnic minoroties (thanks to PC plod being suspect of the 'blackies') it results in a system with a high possibility of mis-identification due to lower genetic diversity in the ethnic minorities.  At a base level though, I've always felt that the database should only contain those who have been convicted of a crime, and that after having served their time their records should be removed (with a few exceptions such as kiddie fiddlers and out right raving loons who are probably in Broadmoor anyway).

This really is a landmark ruling and is in my opinion great news

More complete story here.

The pebble on West Side Story had a few ounces of Jasper's DNA on it. I suspect that this is why CSI Hathersage took it away for investigation. My DNA can be found in plentyfull supply on any knee or head height objects within a 10 mile radius of Sheffield City centre (I am a clumsy cunt). The European Court has, however, ruled that my DNA should not be collected and stored under any circumstances due to the risk of infection by the more virulent strains of manflu.

Get your Christmas tat here - all you could ever want including Jesus money boxes, nativity ducks and lots more. In fact there was such a magnitude of tat that I struggled to choose a highlight from it all but eventually settled on this:

"Jesus is one of the most famous beardies of all time, but simply add a hot drink to this mug and the familiar facial hair of our Lord disappears, leaving him clean-shaven."

Wow!!

Ain't going to get out of that too easily!

Poor reporting though, first paragraph they use "allegedly found" presumably as the case has not gone to court and "proved" yet in the second paragraph its straight and clear cut "were found"  :spank:
