Da News
October 22, 2008, 01:51:54 pm
A dedicated thread for those ridiculous/hilarious/outrageous news stories you come across, such as Don't forget to chew 20 times.

It seems Greenpeace are opposed to nuclear fusion.

The spokesperson clearly has no idea what she's talking about.

Nuclear disaster at fission plant == bad (viz Chernobyl)
Nuclear disaster at fusion plant == oops we spilt some deutrium

Bunch of ignorant, tree hugging fools!!!  I think the closing quote from Moore sums the current stance of Greenpeace rather well.

On a lighter note I have to say I've never managed to loose any clothes whilst chimnying, but it seems some dimwit thief managed to  completely undress

Not like the beeb to get typos like that - they've got him down as being arrested for burglary, when clearly they mean buggery.

Compare and contrast.

Quote from: Pocklington Post
A CYCLIST who failed to stop when asked by a PCSO was given a £115 fine.
Sarah Wilson of Market Place, Market Weighton, rode off from the officer while riding along High Street in March.

The 33-year-old appeared at Beverley Magistrates’ Court where she pleaded guilty.

She was also ordered to pay £40 prosecution costs, although there was no separate penalty for failing to give her name and address.

Quote from: Swindon Advertiser
A DRINK-fuelled attack led to a court appearance for a Trowbridge man.
Andrew Nicholas Sims of St Mary's Close pleaded guilty to common assault at North West Wiltshire Magistrates Court in Trowbridge on Friday, April 5.
The court heard that Mr Sims had drunk about seven or eight pints before grabbing Nicholas Butler by the throat in the toilet of the King's Arms pub, Trowbridge.
Mr Butler was forced to the ground and kicked before his friends came in and intervened.
He was left with a two-inch cut to his face and a swollen right eye after the unprovoked attack
.
Mr Sims told the magistrates that he had been having a particularly hard time in his personal life and had been out drowning his sorrows.
He said he had no idea why he had attacked Mr Butler and had no memory of the incident.
He said: "There is no excuse for what I did. I have never attacked anyone before and have no intention of doing it again.
"I'm very sorry for what I did and if I could apologise to the victim in person I would."
The magistrate said that this was a very nasty attack but that they had taken into account the remorse Sims had shown and his early guilty plea.

Sims was ordered to pay £80 compensation, a fine of £70 and costs of £55.

Thats actually very foresightful to take the animal with you as it expediated the diagnosis of rabies.

Not sure I'd have run a mile with it clamped to my arm though, but then again you're unlikely to catch me running a mile even without a fox.

Ha ha. It so easily could have been. I thought it might have been about Sarkozy before I clicked on it too. Silvio is the man though.
