Anasazie V2's ?
October 14, 2008, 10:02:37 pm
Should i get these, (will be used for mainly bouldering), or shall i get a more intense bouldering shoes.. i operate at around font 7b (worked) ans should be doing some harder stuff soon...the V2's look good because i would want to be able to smear and stuff, but are they not the best shoe for bouldering????

They're shite for smearing.
Admittedly mine aren't fully worn in yet, but they're stiff as. They make a good limestone/edging boot, but probably not a good grit boot. I'll quite happily be corrected by those that have a fully worn in pair, and have found otherwise, but those are my current thoughts.

Eh?

Verdes are less stiff and probably better for smearing.
Personally, I'd get a boot that fits my feet best.  This and taking into account stiff/soft you can't go far wrong.

If you want a smearing shoe, forget the V2

If your after a more intense kind of shoe, look for the pair sat in a corner smoking crack, and quoting Proust, you'll probably find them pretty intense! Hope this helps.

anasazi velcros have been good to me, i've tried scarpa, mad rock, and a couple of evolves, but the onyx velcro is the only shoe i've ever bought twice (four times now i think).  although i agree with GCW, fit matters more than tech.

Out of interest, where do you think the velcro sits on the anasazi sole stiffness scale?  somewhere between verdes and v2s?
