Have done 2 but seeing as I've never climbed in the US
of to font next week so may be

probably tells you more about the demographic and travel patterns of 8a users rather than a true test of greatness....

Five. I wouldn't consider any of these five to be world class. Just goes to show, most popular does not generally equal best.

Hmmm how have they got to this?

If they've just counted up how many times each problem is on all of the scorecards then things like "the hulk" might get a bit confusing.

there's loads and loads of easier stuff that is way way way more popular, just that most people don't bother to log every easy problem on 8a.co.ck, thus this list is bollocks.

I think

log

Is probably the most relevant word there. And I think "most popular" and most often ascended are two different things.

Why did you choose 16, not Top 20 Adam? Because you havent done no 17? :)

Sorry, now I see. Its not a list of 'the best', its the 'most popular'.

By this, as I understand it, it means a list of the most popular over-graded soft-touches in the world. Hence why I have done so many (and why Mr Lincoln has done all of them!). Shit, shit, shit! I wish I'd managed an Australia trip - then I too could have had a clean sheet!

La Marie Rose is shit.

No it's not, it's a piece of rock in Font that a lot of strong people find harder than they were expecting and therefore call it shit.  You'll be telling us next that Science Friction is shit and should be re-graded to 7a.

If we need a definition of shit your avatar would be a good starging place  :o

I have done the 6 in Font and must say that I enjoyed the experience of climbing all of them.  Whenever I'm in Cuvier, I'll get on La Marie Rose to warm up and have always enjoyed doing so.

What actual rules are there to constitute what is a good or bad problem then?

Marie Rose is always getting grief but I thought it was a good problem. Not amazing but good and obviously interesting from a historical point of view. It also gave Lagers great amusement when I failed to flash it.

In fact, based on the 8a.stupid system of grading by number of attempts, it must either be 7A+ or La Joker (which is pretty shit) is 5+ as Marie Rose took me 3 goes and Joker 2.
