The Vote!
May 09, 2008, 01:16:50 pm
With over two pages of ideas I thought it was high time that a vote was taken. I've also included an option for not ready to vote yet should you disagree.
A lot of the ideas arent really that developed while others, like the crest, are pretty much ready to go so I suppose you're voting for the concept which could then go into final production.
I've linked to the topics where the ideas can be found below:

Can be. Seems like most people are ready to decide anyhow. Forgot to put a finishing date on so perhaps if this is to be the official one then Bubs can set a time by which all votes must be in.

Since procrastination is my middle name, this might as well be the official vote - thanks Will and Dave for kicking me up the booty.

can this poll be made to allow you to vote for more than one design????
(but obviously not for one repeatedly)

I clicked on the wrong one by mistake...

I have to say that I wouldn't be overly fond of wearing the crest, in that case I might as well just give a donation instead.

Wouldn't buy the crest. Its got to be "anyone for danny's" even if it is an in-joke.
Quite like lovejoy and dave's ideas mentioned on other thread

It seems that competition between the crest and Dannys is pretty strong even though Crest has twice the votes. Are the Dannys lovers simply the more vocal UKB "elite" though? I wouldnt really fancy the Danny's one as I dont feel in on the joke as it was only known about by a handful of UKBers. I should probably also have said that you should only vote if you intend to buy one of the tees.

I wouldn't buy the crest. No offence meant to richdraws, but the design reminds me of that Rox (was it?) clothing (mountain biking stuff) from the late 90s that I wasn't too enamoured with then. I do however admire your skills rich and am sure you could produce limitless impressive drawings in many different styles.

Again, I really dont like the crest one (no offence etc) and would prefer one of the others. I'm sure several Danny's would be heading my way. Its still a cool design for those that dont get it. How inconvenient/silly would it be to have 2 different t-shirt designs?

Since the T-shirt is planned (at least partly) as a fund raising event, I propose a commercially secure (low financial risk to UKB/Bubba) way of collecting votes - something like this...

Any one wishing to buy a T-shirt (or several) should send in the estimated amount of cash (for the purposes of this demonstration lets say £10 per T) to Bubba. For each T shirt that the person pays for - the person gets 1 vote for what the design should be. So, for example, all those who want several of the "Danny's" design can send in X times £10 and get X number of votes for their preferred design and UKB already has the money and so doesn't have to worry about how many orders might be coming.
All those people who sent in cash and didn't vote for the most popular design can have a choice of getting their money back or getting a T-shirt with the "winning" design. Perhaps, if enough orders/cash were recieved, then a second design could be printed (too complicated?)

Does this make sense?

A logistical nightmare perhaps?

With all the computer skills and all round brain power floating around on this site, the logistics should be easy to handle.

Just go for two shirt designs that cover the most votes and please as many (trans.  rape as many wallets) as possible.

Bubba will need to get real on the price too (especially if there is more than one colour to deal w/ or multiple illustrations in different areas on the shirt) You should be looking to pay at least 16 to 18 pounds for a pukka limited edition t-shirt.  Check online for comparisons.  Last T-shirt I bought was from a website and cost me 22.50 inc. postage.  The design was simple (something small on the back too).

An option is to use a company like http://www.spreadshirt.net

You can design as my t-shirts as you like and people order direct through their site so you don't have to hold any stock.  All Bubba needs to do is set a commision on each t-shirt for the kitty.  I think that a single coloured t-shirt costs about £8/9.

We could also have hoodies, mugs and http://www.spreadshirt.net/en/GB/T-Shirt/Overview-2107/categoryId/8/productTypeId/115/type/detail/

I've used Spreadshirt before and they are pretty good, easy to use and very fast delivery, it also means people can chose what they want style and size wise (t-shirts/vest/hoodies)

I have no clue what this Dannys thing is about and wouldn't buy one cause I think it's ugly as sin, regardless of whether I get the in joke or not.

I don't understand how one design can be so far out in front (crest) yet everyone posting is claiming to prefer another?  Is it really just that some posters on here are a lot more vocal and the silent majority don't want to say they don't agree?  :-\

Why isn't there a specific t-shirt for women either? That way you could make even more money!

You don't need to post a comment to place a vote.

Incidentally I am banned from more t-shirt purchases.  The Mrs tells me I have 40 perfectly good ones in the cupboard . . .

How about a Mugabe/Tsvangirai style run off for the two top contenders? My current vote isn't getting a look in...
Thing is, our top two seem to be polarising opinion a bit - people love or hate 'em. But really, is this such an issue? I own plenty of t-shirts, and Bubba/UKB would be getting more net if I just bunged him a tenner on paypal than bought a shirt (which I'll do if I don't fancy the chosen design).
