Finger tendonitis
November 25, 2006, 05:51:58 pm
I'm after some advice please since I seem to be suffering from finger tendonitis possibly of the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP).
I've come to this conclusion for a number of reasons, such as, my circumstances have changed (back to uni) and I'm having to write and use a mouse so much more than ever before.
It seems to get better after an hour of easy climbing, but worse with cessation of climbing of more than 2 days.
No pain when pressed in a way in which a pulley would hurt.
It doesn't feel comfortable when my fingers are straight, much more comfortable when the fingers are slightly bent.
Slight discomfort at the base of the finger/top of palm.
No pain when crimping on easy stuff, only slightly sore when on the harder holds.

So, has anyone had the same, feel that my theory is incorrect, or any thoughts on treatment. I've tried a lay off but that really didn't do anything. :wall:

Cheers
