Not posted before but a long time stalker... 
Since Dave Sutcliffe and co went up over the winter Paul Clarke and few others have been slowly recording the bouldering up at Ash Head. We've put a small edit together of some of the newer problems. Its a really good venue with just the right ingredients; great quality rock, just enough features, engaging(?) height and flat landings. And 25 min from the roundhill carpark! Hope this tempts a few people up. We're all punting around at 6a-7a but there are definitely some harder things still to go at up there.

I think there's been a landslide too, so some boulders and the approach may be affected. If you have a surfboard take it up with you if you head that way. Oldshoremore and Balnakiel Bay at Durness produce great waves. As does Sandwood Bay if you are prepared to walk!

We investigated the landslide. A few blocks are now unclimbable, but not too many. All the climbing in this video is further north than the beach (to the right). We once walked round the headland to the left, all the way to Oldshoremore beach. There is stuff there, but further north is better in my opinion.

What is more amazing than the landslide is the winter storms. A couple massive blocks have been moved, or simply disappeared, since last time I was there. The climbing here is changeable for sure, but that adds to the allure for me. Hope you get to use the guide (and yes, it needs updating, but i can't face typesetting for a while).

You would have got to Polin beach first surely? Yes, we explored round to the left from the campsite a few years back too, as there are a few routes described in NHN, but nothing looked too inspiring. There is some OK bouldering on Polin beach, fine for a half hour play if there with family. Polin Geo has some good routes in the lower grades. There is a big slab between Polin Geo and Oldshoremore, which is of perfect rock, but very easy angle, great for kids (I soloed it in sandals).
on the cliff edge just south of OSM beach is a great mix of sea level traversing / DWS / bouldering / microroutes and is great to explore in calm seas.

Unfortunately there isn't anything, and I don't think anything is possible. There is a brilliant V9 just to the left of the prow, another 3 star problem, but it feels more like V11! Had a session on it yesterday and I'm keen to get back.

Just found out that old mate of mine lives 10 mins away from there, theres a downhill trail on that hillside as well apparently.
