Pretty impressed with the bouldering around Perth. This is one of the local classics, Thin Grin V10, it's the hardest I've tried on a boulder problem for quite some time, well worth the effort, it's a great problem.



Been climbing loads since arriving in Perth, there's a really good scene, I've been enjoying some good sessions down the wall and getting out when I can. I've hardly done any fishing!

Depends what you mean by "compared to the rest of Oz". Sydney has a lot of good local stuff, but on the other hand near Melbourne it's pretty esoteric. Perth has some cool areas and a few standout problems. Melbourne locals tend to drive 4hours to the Gramps on the weekend. Perth locals don't have that, but Margaret River is a great weekend option with beautiful coastal bouldering on top quality granite, with no crowds and pretty reliable weather. There are several areas, which I guess must add up to at least a few hundred problems, possibly more. Can be hard to find info though - there is no guidebook.

I think a lot of places are pretty shit when compared to Australia's more popular climbing areas.

There really are some cracking boulders and problems around Perth, it just requires a little more effort to get the info and get out there, but I think that adds to it tbh. Some of the stuff I have looked at would be 3 star, no matter where it was. I'm planning on getting out a bit more before the weather warms up, I'll try and get some more footage of the good stuff.
