Many caveats.
First of all, that video is truly horrible. I had to use a crap editor and the result was crappy. I'll remove it soon, but I wanted to show the climbing, which is on the other hand very good.
With respect to the problem, it's filmed in two halves, with the crux being the move with the right hand switch into an undercling. When I grunt, exactly. Getting the undercling was hard, and getting it right for the reach to the pinch a lot harder. In the video I skip all the adjusting that I needed on the redpoint to get the undercling right. So it seems that I do it easily, but I can assure I was pulling like there was no tomorrow.
Then, dry holds and cool wind make a big difference.
The grade is tentative and a provocation for a few people I know that are behaving in a silly way. It's a harder start to an 8a on the right that I did in one session years ago and repeated the day I did my project, at the end of the day: this variation took me three years, on and off...
This is just to thank you for your compliment, but don't believe the hype. The moves are super cool, as everything with hard underclings, but it's still a shitty variation, it's morpho, has a bad landing, it's an eliminate and has the most painful rock ever. Has just the fascination and appeal of being hard.
