Great stuff Chris, really nice film. Good to meet you guys on Tuesday.
Good to see Andy ticking Malcs  :2thumbsup:
That might be the first repeat of The Universal too, as far as I know.
And Potential Seven, confirmed at 7B?

Cheers all. The Universal is indeed a great problem on a great boulder in an amazing setting.

@ richieb - Good to meet you and the other locals, we're really grateful for all the the help and advice. We weren't sure that was The Universal at first as it looked nothing the picture on the Stone Country blog - here

As for The Potential Seven I think Andy and myself felt it was probably hard 7B although we did it with slightly different sequences. Must have felt much harder in the full sun on the first ascent.

Still plenty to go back for though  :)

Yeah, the caption is wrong with that photo. That problem is on a different boulder further up the same Coire.
I might send you a pm with some other questions if that's alright.

That's a great vid of Upper Edale. 3rd way of doing Creme Eggs is the 'original'. And I think I may have done it without pads (so must be E10).
Terrifying!

Nice video Chris - great to see you both got Malc's Arete.

Love that bonsai tree on top of he first boulder. The Three Streaks problem looked sopping - surprised you got on it let alone did it.

Thanks Simon. We were both pretty pysched ticking Malc's, it would have been a long drive back if we hadn't.

Despite appearances Three streaks was actually bone dry. It is obviously a run off line (hence presumably the name) but none of the rock was wet. The big dark coloured streak you can see in the video was just some sort of dried on crud.

Nice one 502Chris. If that doesn't get 7B climbers psyched to climb north of the wall, god knows what will.

If only Torridon was just 'North of the Wall' rather than 6 hours north of the wall I'd be up there a whole lot more often!

Anymore info on the first two problems? I've never heard of them before. Not on bleau.info either.

A few from the last week in Torridon. Obviously all the rain and midges have been edited out  ;)

My lord! Malc's arete is quite aesthetic.  I assume there's a a sitter as well?

I don't think there's a true sitter as the base of the boulder is normally a big puddle. There's a low / crouching start that adds difficulty but not quality.

Reliable conditions and no midges?

About a similar driving time to Torridon as Font from Sheffield, except there's less used condoms and the topouts don't f**k your elbows up  ;)

Firstly; why isn't this thread stickied?

Secondly: here's some more non-qual stuff for my fellow sub-6 crab style lank lovers

these 2 traverses are actually pretty good (notice the lack of matching/sharing holds) and provide a good warm up for the Remergence bloc

Dead Tree Crack is just left of the Tiny Slab - both about 20m right of Mutiny Crack, Remergence, Blind Date etc

Interestingly, although it was The Mark Leach who first showed me these traverses, I still manage to use some half decent foot sequences to get myself across - if you find it strenuous, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG

Vimeo have started getting pretty sharp on the stealing other people's music thing, so I've used some top class corporate motivational vibes

I don't usually move that fast, but it was a pre-work session and I'd left my phone at home and had no watch. As it turned out, I was back at the car for 9.25am - meaning that I could have had another 40 mins on rock - arse
