Just to warn anyone, don't watch 'The Monuments Men', complete tosh from start to end which was a real shame given the cast. A bad movie, not even in a bad-movie-but funny way like the Deathwish films.

Watch 'Deathwish 3' instead, a laugh riot

Boyhood: this has to be one of the most exciting action films I've seen. Not really. A boy grows up, nothing of consequence happens, it lasts three hours.

I fucking loved this film. The only way it could have been better was if it had been even longer and slower.

It's Linklater isn't it. Does look good and it's interesting that he's taken the Before Sunrise etc thing to another level and was actually doing that all the time while making other films.

Strangely enough I just watched Death Wish 5 and enjoyed it.

Best thing I've seen lately is Robot & Frank. Funny and heart warming comedy crime caper about a retired cat burglar who is down and suffering with alzeimers/dementia. Through the friendship of an assistance robot finds his lust for life.

Also really enjoyed Prisoners.
Watched this the other night and me and the misses thoroughly enjoyed it, even warmed my frozen heart. Excellent recomendation, thanks

I enjoyed it, but I struggle not to get annoyed by Don Cheadle.

FD if you mean the dawn of the rise of the planet of the apes of the film then yup. Initially I wasn't sure what I thought and it isn't without its annoyances but after a night's sleep I thought it was very good indeed. Make of that what you will.

Watched Nebraska last night. In black n white a story about an old guy determined to collect his $1M magazine subscription prize turns road trip with his son to the town he grew up in. Funny and heart warming too with similarities to Robot & Frank. Another really good film.

Strangley appropriate.

He certainly spoils the Oceans films. Well, makes them shitter anyway.

That's just the appalling Dick Van Dyke style cockernee accent though isn't it.

I don't think he's as annoying in other stuff where he speaks normally.

Dallas Buyers Cub is as good as the reviews suggest.

I was thinking that Jared Leto should have won an Oscar as well as McConnaughey and then I realised he had.

A remake would be sacrilegious

However I still preferred Tales from the Water Margin  :ninja:

It is brilliant... one of the few films I've seen this year that I've thought about a few times..

leaked test footage for a Deadpool movie, it would be amazing if they made this!

It just dropped into my Twitter feed that "North of the Sun" has just come out:

http://steepedge.com/categories/surf-and-sailing/north-of-the-sun.html

This is a really really great film about two friends (in Norway) who find a really cool surf spot just N of the arctic circle and decide to build a hut entirely from driftwood and beach stuff and stay there a winter - self sufficient styleee.... They're a really funny pair and the movie is half about their characters and half about the experience..

I bizarrely saw this at the Banf Film Festival 'tour' in the Deck Chair Cinema in Darwin, NT, AU... lovely film...
