Here is the info:

Went to Pantymywn today and found the Cave area cordoned off with a wire fence. A Council conservation officer was there and said climbing was not allowed until the underground cave at the back of the roof under ‘Be Ruthless’ had been sealed off as there were nesting bats and also there had been a dangerous underground slip which meant cavers are not going down there at the moment. Also, somebody’s dog had been lost down there recently and its owner had tried to rescue it and nearly got stuck!
The officer said a special ‘bat protection licence’ had to be applied for which would take at least a month plus they had to see about blocking off the cave so the bats are protected and also to stop the public going down there. She was friendly towards us and said climbing would be allowed again once this is all sorted out in a few months hopefully.
Bouldering in the Under the Bridge area in the Gorge itself is still allowed, which is where we went. I have let the BMC know so hopefully they will get in touch with the Council
