HI does any body know of any good locations near falmouth in cornwall to go bouldering. i am very new to bouldering (just really got into over the x-mas hols through a friend). i am a university there and it would be ideal if i could find some spots to learn on. thanks  :D

1) Godreavy (North Coast), around 30 minute drive for you - best place in Cornwall - tidal compact sandstone
2) Clodgy Point (St. Ives), around 40 min drive for you - 2nd best place - non-tidal greenstone
3) Gwenver (Lands End), around an hour drive for you - 3rd best place - tidal granite
4) Carn Brae (Cambourne), around 15 minute drive for you - very good - inland granite
5) John's Wall (about 15 minutes drive from you), only decent indoor wall in cornwall - listed in some guidebooks for directions - very freindly and cheap
6) Rinsey Head - (about 20 minutes from you) south coast, some good problems there - Tidal granite
7) Secret spots - (too many to list here, many are excellent)

you've never been to Northcote then ...

the coast line round bude has got some excellent problems, but its a bit of a drive from Falmouth - bout 90 mins

the coast line round bude has got some excellent problems, but its a bit of a drive from Falmouth - bout 90 mins

I've been there about 10 times and it's a great location but not nearly as good as godreavy, sorry. And as you say, it's not really local for Falmouth. Even CoombesHead on Dartmoor is  shorter drive.

EDIT: Simon's wall is awesome though, obviously
