Ian Huntley and the Compensation Culture
« on: Yesterday at 07:12:32 pm »
Now since I'm at home and not minded to look at Kemp & Kemp i can't understand how a sore throat however so caused can be worth £100k (maybe £12k at a push) I can't help but find the reaction to his intention to bring a claim rather unplesant.

Law is law, just because he's a scum bag of the first water who in my mind should have seen My Lord don a black cap, doesn't mean that he's not entitled to the protection of the law and the right to bring a claim.

It's not very nice to think of him getting a pay off but then again I'd rather have a government that respected the tule of law even when it's unpopular than one (apropos the last government) that rode roughshod over it for a few quick tabloid headlines.

Your thoughts?
Well it was HVS in my day!

You have a home copy of Kemp? Anyway, unless the throat slashing has had some gruesome consequences It's not going to be worth anything like £100k. I also doubt there's going to be a big loss of future earnings claim in there.
