aye, this time of year kudos wall is always dry, and in the sun from late mid morning to early evening.

Waded past Cavair on sunday, a couple of brave souls on Kudos wall, which looked slightly damp.

Just the slap way is really frustrating, get the slopey bit just below the good bit and i cant
a) go again
b)move my feet
so im screwed...

I say go for the undercut way, by the time you pull the jugs right by your face. Sorted and if you screw it up you dont swing into the rope!

no no paul, dangerous isn't piss. On the subject of Rubicon one of the routes which is most often dry is Hot Fun Closing, which although looks like a piece of shit (you do have to do Kudos at the start unfortunately) is actually damn good as the holds above the break are some of the nicest at Rubicon. Plus you get the history of doing the peaks first 8a.

Hmmm sounds interesting shame you have to do kudos to start, Is any method acceptable or does it have to be the original way?

Dangerous bro's....different folks different strokes i guess....Didnt you do salar the undercut way too doyle?

Rubicon is damp. The sissy is dry, Zeke is wet, the bigger splash wall was damp. Caviar is soaked, but starts out of a lake, so that's alright.

Oh my god I've never seen it so flooded. The whole crag and path upto and beyond the Cornice is at least a foot under water!

Probably best to leave it for a day or 2.

Anyone know if Rubicon/cragx are likely to be in condition tomorrow? Or am I better off going to the Tor?

I dare say they will be fine although the ground will be muddy. Conditions might even be excellent. I always check www.buxtonweather.co.uk to find out how much rain has fallen recently, it also has a link to a weathercam at Harpur Hill so you can monitor how the weather is prior to a visit.

went for a walk down Monsal Dale yesterday, the river is very high at rubicon and is about 3 or 4 inches deep under caviar. All the walls are wet and there actually is water cascading down kudos wall. My advice - leave it until at least feb.

Good to see 1.4 hours of sunshine so far this year, with December failing to reach an average of an hour a day.
