April 16, 2018, 05:57:45 pm

Would like to be able to access my dads desktop remotely, to help with his endless IT issues.

Just wondered if anyone had an knowledge on the best/easiest way/software to do this. (we're both on windows 10) .

Ta in advance

TeamViewer is fairly straightforward and free

Currently using Chrome Remote Desktop. Free and easy to set up if both machines are using chrome already.

The Remote Desktop Connection app built in to windows has always worked well for me. You may need to do some network shennanigans (opening up ports etc.) though, so depends if you're happy doing that sort of stuff.

Cheers guys,

I use chrome all the time, as does my dad I think, so that might be a goer.

Remus : - not right into networking etc, has to be dead easy, especially on my dads side, where it has to basically require virtually no effort what so ever.

Both the built in Win10 one and the Chrome one are pretty easy to use
They both have 'ask someone to help' type links. You input a code provided by the other person and it's linked. Chrome works desktop to desktop but also has an Android app that works surprisingly well.
