Good point about desire getting through the discomfort.

You get used to/adapted to the added pressure relatively quickly. As minging as they are the Eva Lopez boards might be a good tool for working down to smaller sharper holds, if they have one at the wall.

Agree - after a max hang session, usually on the 18 mm edge, I do some hangs to failure on the 6 mm edge.  The former to regimen to build finger strength, the latter to train pain tolerance!

For me, skin hurts much more and i get more splits if i'm not well hydrated - seems to be best when I'm peeing every 30-60 minutes. It took me a long time to realise this!

Oh and antihydral helps too! Just don't use too much.

Last time I pee'd on my hands every 30 min I got some strange looks ;)

That was at the wall though...

Took 8 days off due to man-flu etc.

Went to the wall yesterday, doing easy routes. Skin was dry, but it and the pulp felt incredibly tender and sore. Like "trying to climb on newly put up holds at TCA without chalk after a week in font" level sore.

I guess you need to pulp it or lose it  >:(
