I'm thinking about buying a pair of these for longer OS climbing to replace my 5.10 knee pads (which are quite frankly rubbish) and where the sender pad is too clunky

I'd be tempted, but I've just bought my second 5.10 pad. Apparently, you have to specify that you want rubber all the way down. Otherwise, you get a square of rubber and neoprene below. It doesn't cost extra - you just have to let them know.
