Roof box for pads beta
April 29, 2016, 06:57:06 pm
Looks like a roof box is needed to stash my pads in when me and MrsTT go on hols.. So it's got to be fairly big (thick) but not necessarily too long etc...

Anyone any experience - brands, types, fitting stuff etc...? Or got one they want to get rid of?

I've already got decent roof bars...

Got mine from here, was good value and quick delivery at the time but that's 5 years or more:

The only advice I can give is make sure it's accessible from both sides, especially if going deep and wide.  And that's it's deep enough for your pad/s, my Ocun doesn't fit in my box.

Cheers. I might go to Halfrauds and try my mats in a few...

There's loads of people on Ebay who hire them out. This can be a better option if you don't want a massive box clogging up your garage for 90% of the year.

Or, pack your pads in the boot and put the stuff from the boot in the topbox negating the need for exact depth width length specs.

Or, wrap pads in industrial clingfilm/parcel tape and just strap to roof bars.

I had thought of both those thanks - and that wouldn't work really... Tarp/wrapping works for the one long journey then dumping stuff etc... But not for what I/we end up doing..

I've found a load on Gumtree for £50 or so...
