You were probably within sight of my dads my bike at some point Nik, he was there for two weeks working as a Marshall. He's also knocking around in the peak quite a bit so possibility to see it at some point. I'm not into bikes really but, well it's something else.

Not being up on these things I don't know what the difference is between the 'dominator ss' in your picture and his domiracer. They look very similar imho.

As you all know, a custom bike is a neverending project. I reckon that the weakest link - aesthethically wise - of my bike is, at the current state, the swingarm.
So, checking the website of the guy from whom I bought the rearsets, I found these beauties. Currently salivating.
Easiest and probably cheapest option: a reinforcing frame welded on standard swingarm. better looking anyway.

A real beauty, fully boxed aluminium swingarm. Maybe not completely coherent with the bike's look, but otherwise very powerful look.

Absolutely astounding, trellis swingarm in various fashions.

Advices welcome.

I'm not a massive bike geek either cowboyhat so also don't know the exact difference between the two bikes. They both look very similar (which is obviously astounding) and in common with all nortons I'm sure they both sound staggering. Does he come over/Marshall every year?

Nibs of those choices my preference is the first trellis, but I also quite like the simple aesthetic of your existing swing arm, it seems suitably minimal. Fully boxed wouldn't work with your bike IMHO.

Lore!

That's dirty and underhand.

I've been trying to avoid all the discussion about who's name should remain in the guidebooks, and you go and post these. So I've logged back in. Swine.

If you've got the spondoolies, how about these from Spondon?

Beautiful.

Pure filth..

More filth here:

You bugger  ::)

Astounding.

Not convinced by the quality of the welding on that box section swingarm Nibs...

I concur that it's not the cleanest of jobs. Must work though, because that bike has won multiple championships in its category.
I don't know how a swingarm of that kind would fit with the rest of my bike. Trellis is prolly better looking and more coherent.
They'll cost thousands I'm sure.

Can't think about an uglier bike, neither about a more dangerous place to attempt this record, but the acceleration is mental.

Just got my new toy home. A 2005 Honda Hornet, white (white bikes look amazing, I'm sure you'll agree Nibs :) )with a few bits and bats added here and there but fairly standard. It's not immaculate, but suits my purposes. Obviously no picture as a 10 year old standard-ish hornet is NOT bike pr0n, but there wasn't really anywhere else to post this rather tedious and uninteresting post...

The only stumbling block now is passing the test so I can ride the thing... (something about cart before horse is probably relevant here...)

Round headlight or triangle style? Hornet is a reliable bike, the only problem with white is keeping it clean

Round light.

Keeping vehicles clean is why adults invented children and picked money  :)

Brilliant!
I don't like clean bikes. If it's that kind of dirt that comes with riding them - mosquitos, some oil drops, and the likes - I never wash mine.

Anyway Nik I started this thread for "normal" bikes and building projects, so post a pic!

Neat bike. Good choice! And an excellent base, should you start some heavy customization!

The devil is in the details.

I also tweaked the clip ons: lowered them a bit more and gave them more angle.
Brilliant.
In the meanwhile I ordered a new tail section, same model but longer narrower to connect better with the fuel tank.
I also found a new radiator in aluminium and a new CNC machined ergal top plate.

I like that nibs. The simplistic boxy fuel tank is especially pleasing to me, definite less is more.
My wife thinks I'll be selling my ybr125 once I get my bike test (halfway there, passed the theory test this morning) however I have started making cafe racer conversion plans...

It's stunning innit?
Bear in mind that it's completely painted, not a single decal even for the number or the flags or the Japanese!
Don't sell the Yamaha! It's an excellent base for a cafe racer! You'll miss it!
