Knee pain (lowering only)
September 18, 2015, 10:19:07 pm
Hi all,

I first noticed pain in my left knee last year at the end of a week long climbing trip, fairly localized behind the knee cap. It only shows up when bending the knee, e.g lowering my weight down to step forward going down a slope. It got bad enough to the point where I would have to turn sideways and only lower on my other leg, match feet and then repeat.

It's come back worse this year on and off while climbing for 6 weeks. It was the worst on Lundy as you have to scramble down some fairly savage slopes at times to access the cliff edges. The pain also showed up sometimes when doing moves that that involved me lowering most of my weight onto the knee.

Any ideas?

Not something I know much about but... ACL or PCL strain? Would probably seek advice on this one. Best of luck.
