If you have a painful shoulder and can get to the London Bridge (SE1) area regularly for a few weeks this summer we might be able to help you.

Shoulder exercise programmes can reduce shoulder pain. However, the exact reasons for why this occurs is not fully understood. One suggestion is that exercises may increase the space within the joint, allowing tendons to move more freely and avoid being ‘impinged’. The relationship between increased space and reduced pain has not previously been investigated. It is this question which we could like to answer, with the goal of improving the effectiveness of shoulder pain treatments.

The project is being undertaken by four fully qualified practising clinical Physiotherapists who are Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy Master’s students at King's College London under the supervision of Dr Duncan Critchley.
