A relatively little known crag despite being on UKC for a while. I know Tom Peckitt, Andy Emery and friends have been. One of the climbs in the last video, Battle Royale, had been done before by them but they haven't offered an alternate name yet.

I'm fair chuffed with this one. I thought it would have to wait till next grit season but the clouds and breeze today gave good enough conditions. Fabulous technical wall climbing, an esoteric venue, slightly high above a perfect landing - it must be "The Cestrian"! Its a little gem.

Also of note is this burly number. When I first tried it after work one evening I didn't think it would go, but conditions were quite dire and the crux sloper was minging. Round 2 on the next session saw good connies and the eventual tick.

There are still only 2 climbs on the mighty Prune boulder. The overhanging roof (left and right exits) and the north facing wall are still to play for. Get stuck in!

the north facing wall

Where's the north facing wall in that vid? Visible? Looks like a cool spot.

Also where exactly is Yeadon crag? Assuming somewhere near Yeadon, but where?

You're looking at the wrong Yeadon. Yeadon is also the name of a small, seemingly abandoned farmhouse above Gouthwaite

Here is the approach. We're putting together a guide but the basic info is on UKC.

What is marked on the map as Hole Buttress is a very cool feature indeed. Big block of rock with a huge natural hole carved through it. If you stand back from it on the uphill side and look at it, you don't have to squint to see that the hole is actually the eye of a huge and evil looking dragon. Clarkey described this as "one of the most awesome natural features in Yorkshire". This big f-- off dragon's head with Nidderdale in it's eye glaring at you!

The north facing wall is in the final vid of the original post. Around the rib/arete to the left of the big roof. It looks quite thin but is actually quite wide and quite impressive.

There is a crag in Yeadon too (the one by the Airport) but I'm not telling you where because it's on private land and is also rubbish!  :worms:
