Those look good coloured in. The one of Jerry is a classic!

Not only have I painted a new blah:

I've also done a fuckton of videos on my painting methods:

Each one taking about 2 hours (1 hour painting and filming, 1 hour editing) for 30 mins of video. I've done fuck all else in the last few weeks apart from a couple of wall sessions and now face the long road to recovery, what a dick.

Just noticed OMM's Avatar,

Just squinting, but is it a sketch of Jerry on Fern Hill at Cratcliffe? If so, 'I like'   8)

Yep, though I couldn't remember where. Sketched from a photo in a mag (or possibly guidebook?) sometime around '92.
Fourth down.

So, framed and hung some non- iPad sketches today, some new and some old. Some based on old photos (Jerry) and some from my head.

All in pencils.

A couple of things I did recently...

The Christmas butterfly, also known as the citrus swallowtail.

The good thing about having kids, is you can get them to pose without having to pay them of buy expensive artists models...

I might start writing a graphic novel.
I mean, why not?

Well it's been over a year since I last inflicted my "art" on you innocents...

This has been my latest commisioned piece at work, it is certainly not sketching and certainly owes as much to engineering as art and given that I was getting paid for it hardly constitutes a passtime activity but it was built from scratch and is completely bespoke...

Behold the periscope:

It is installed in an new office build and is conected to a camera on the roof. The eyepiece moves up and down (with motorised assistance) and there are buttons on the handle to pan the camera left and right. Here's a very short video of it lowering down.

You may spot the vertical LED's have a blue coloured section that moves to indicate the height of the eyepiece, it doesn't come out very clearly on video though. The moving rams are copper, the body and eyepiece is powdercoated hand formed mild steel, the handles are aluminium clad in handmade copper rings, the movement is a frankenstein collection of bike parts, lead counterweights and electric motors the electronics are a arduino based custom made control unit. And yes it took a fuckton of time  :)

Cheers Yoss and Fiend. I had some issues with the video and photos so took them down to re-upload without allowing for the fact that i'd also deleted them off my phone. Doh...

Some good painting skills there Fiendo - but the dead fella's chopper looks rather out of proportion!

Recently started going to life drawing classes expecting it to be a relaxed couple of hours of drinking absinthe, discussing philosophy and occasionally scrawling some pencil lines on a piece of paper...

Instead it was pretty intensive, quick poses and brilliant fun.

Here's my faves so far:

Clearly heads terrify me...
