Childrens Caving/Climbing helmet
November 17, 2014, 09:56:56 am
Hi,

In the market for a helmet for my daughter (8yrs), that i can use to to take her potholing in, and also wear to second at the crag, i.e an all-rounder cradle type. Didn't really want to spend 50 quid as she will likely grow out of it soon, any suggestions peeps?

I'm not convinced that would work caving, where u bang your helmet 20 times a trip?

Depends on the type of cycling helmet. This type is better for lots of knocks

than the "disposable" polystyrene shell type.

Ive taken my two caving in their cycle helmets before  ... no bother.

however, either of these two helmets would be better suited to the task...

I reckon a good fit on the head is probably more important than anything else (style, strength etc) and that can only truly be ascertained in a shop.

This has actually turned out to be a great all round helmet, that OMM junior #2 doesn't actually want to take off.
The only disappointment for me is that when I shout "Rufio! Rufio!" At him, he has no clue what I'm talking about...
