I'm toying with the idea of trying to work remotely from a sport climbing destination in europe for a few months. My work would require frequent sending of files and generally a good internet connection.

Does anyone know of any European sport destinations that have a good internet connection, cheap accomodation + enough people coming through to be able to climb lots?

Somewhere like Kalandraka at Rodellar but with fast internet would be the ideal! Any ideas?

I dunno what it would be like, but would getting a local sim card and using 3G to access the internet be sufficient? Have no idea on signal for specific areas, but maybe something to think about?

I saw on Facebook mel and Gary are looking for workers at the olive branch in El chorro.
Internet is okay except in an evening when everyone is on it.

Cheers all! I'll start making a list of possibles.

I might try out 3G for my laptop when i'm in Spain next to see how usable it is!

Hadn't thought of SA so thanks for that suggestion, looking into it now.

Anywhere with a MacDonalds nearby?

Coffee shops in America (I'm thinking Bishop) often had good internet too but I'm not sure if the cost of flights would remove it from your list of destinations. I'm guessing not if you're considering SA.

Me and my gf often stretch our week-ends on this scheme. (Climbing Sat & Mon, working on Sunday). Works well almost everywhere in France/Spain, if you find a bar with wifi willing to put up with you for 12 hours... Not always totally cheap to keep on their good side. But in low-season they are usually glad for all the customers they get.
