Getting your own photos framed?
September 28, 2014, 03:02:18 pm
I got some professional photos of my kids and my niece and nephews taken so I can get one framed for a 40th wedding anniversary gift for my parents. The results are great, and the next step is getting them enlarged and framed. Has anyone got any experience or recommendations for online stores that do this?

Thanks in advance.

I've had pics enlarged via the usual online suspects.. But always had then framed from a local shop. I guess the online framers are ok, but if you go to a ship it's easier to choose the frame and the mount...

I'd go to a framer as the guy I use in Liverpool spends time with me choosing mount styles and different frame colours/materials. He did a doug scott print of K2 for me. The framer suggested the opposite of what I had originally wanted and it looks superb because of his advice. There must be some good framers around Keswick

Photobox.com is where I usually get my photos printed and I have to say I can't recommend them enough. Great and fast service, and superb prints with accurate color. Set up by a group of photographers who got pissed of with getting crap prints if memory serves...

Then I usually go to a local framer to get it mounted and framed but that'll be of little use to you.

That's my 2p...
