On behalf of a colleague; am I right in thinking that you can't send an email attachment in Apple Mail? I can see that you can send a Dropbox link but am utterly astounded if/that you can't send a direct file!?

Of course you can. What's the attachment? Generally you have top have the attachment open in something then look for the share options etc..

The problem with iOS is that you aren't allowed to access a file manager. So the file you are trying to attach needs to be somewhere simple like photos etc, or as tom says open the file then try to share it.

You can also copy and paste into email body, or hold a finger on the cursor until the option bar comes up an tap insert (for photos etc).

I still think it's pretty ridic that you can't attach any given file type with ease. Clunky to the extreme.

Very true.
I've got used to switching between apps and even sending multiple mails, but it is the greatest weakness of the iPad.
It can be done, just not the way you'd expect to after years of using a PC.

They have thought of something new with the iPhone 6 though. I've tried bending my titanium HTC and it won't work.
