Lagers.  I presume you've checked the camera settings is set to max resolution?  #theobvious

yes - I suspect a software issue

going to do some controlled pics (tripod, light etc)

Missus has an Experia too, and it produces photos as good as my phone does.

which Xperia?

eldest child has a Sony Xperia SP with an alleged 8mp camera

utter shite

looks like pics from a 3mp

currently complaining to Virgin; as a big reason for picking it was for the great camera that they advertised

it also allows her to shoot video in portrait. shirley shome mishtake

Are you judging this based on the mp's alone? If so chances are when it's above its native ISO the image quality will take a significant dive if it's a tiny sensor.

Could we concentrate on nice phone pics rather than 'my phones camera is shit/brilliant etc...'??

but I haven't got a smartphone, so it's the only opportunity I've got to spout shite on this part of the interweb
I suggest you just look at the pictures and ignore the wordy bits

Is that the Pantheon Andy? I was staggered by this on the basis of when it was built, incredible
It's amazing indeed. It's the biggest dome built with conventional materials. The higher it goes, the lighter the materials that have been used.

A bit grainy, given it was taken in very low light early morning, but quite liked the affect;

Take on a return flight from Tromso;

Geek alert - apparently you can work out in which direction your sensor reads information...!

Yes, the earlier one is the Pantheon. Here's a fun Roman one where the simple accessibility of the phone was helpful:

I used to be able to embed photos on here but can't any longer for some reason.

Took this on my HTC ONE Mini, it was another terribly hard day at the office.

I used to lug around my SLR and associated gadgetry with me at every opportunity until we had our daughter and then there was a whole lot of different gadgetry that took its place.
Since then I've become a smartphone photography convert and snap lots with it!
I use Google+ backup to automatically backup my shots and use with Google+ or Snapseed to do editing of these shots almost exclusively - the results you can get are amazing!!

This shot is unedited as I just thought it was great out of the phone/camera.

Its do do with the refraction of different light wavelengths through rain droplets. Contrary to popular belief - there is not a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but a Tesco Metro filled with cigar smoking, brogue wearing lawyer Moomins.

One more from St Llorenç in the fog by jwi, on Flickr

Taken with my Samsung Note II. A slightly touched up version, printed at 70x50, hangs in mrs jwi's office–and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it held up in print

I'd buy that.
As a poster or canvas print.

Taken from ride in the local woods. Fortunately no one cycled past while I was lying in the path
