Bügeleisen Sit
May 03, 2014, 12:18:24 am
Nalle hasn't actually offered a grade but he said it's quite hard so Rock and Ice are happy to throw 'V16' and 'hardest ever' around anyway, even after Nalle mentions that he admires Klem's stance of not publicising his ascents after getting pissed off with the media's obsession with grades.  Climbing journalism has really gone downhill, but this is the first interview about a significant ascent.

Where's Astroman?

I think it's the sit start to Midnight Lightning or something.

Great ascent - fantastic when you see the best climbers at their (ragged) edge! (from 5:00 onwards for the send without the driving to crag bollocks..)..

Inspiring ascent and attitude too...

Absolutely. Great video, liked the way it was put together, and especially the soundtrack for the send.

Really? I thought it was a new low in climbing footage. Not only do we have driving to the crag but now social media at the crag. Interactive twittering (or whatever the fuck) at the end? The Climbing was amazing but the rest of it made me hate the video, hate myself then hate the video some more.

The next step is tweeting about the drive to the crag. You heard it here first remember..

Clart - yup.

I like the snippets of social media, I'm not a fan of social media per se but it's how a lot of climbing information and news spreads these days. When Nalle was trying the problem, people would have been getting those updates at the time, and I thought it was nicely done to show what was actually going on behind those updates.

I also liked the battle with the weather, Nalle's commentary and description of the problem and the sneaky "OMG EPIC DUBSTEP THIS MUST BE THE SEND" bluff.

No that was when I left my laptop on when he was babysitting. It'll not happen again as he now has 2.5 kids and no life. :P
