FiveTen Team Sizing
March 10, 2014, 12:01:16 pm
I've tried my best to find somewhere with these in stock to try on yet failed. So, how do these (the black versions) size up compared to street-shoe or other FiveTen shoes please?

Bananfingers suggests 1.5 sizes up from Blancos but others have suggested half a size down from street-shoe size which seems very conflicting!

We sell 'em where i work, I've had 2 pairs of the blues in size 8, and the blacks in size 8 feel right to me too, though different to the blues as the elastic now comes a lot higher up. For reference i get a 7.5 in the newer dragons and had 8s in dragons as they were up till last year, I'm a 9 to 9.5 street shoes but have very narrow feet.

I'd second the 'same as the older Dragons' comment on the blue Teams

8 pairs of shoes? Do you wear 2 pairs on Sunday?

I've just checked and new style Dragons are very tight (i.e. painful) at 7.5. 8s are very comfortable (they actually seemed great right out of the box). Not sure which I'd pick if I was purchasing them today.

So size 7.5 or 8 in the black teams seams like a good bet?

Yes get a 7.5 and I will buy them off you cheap if/when they don't fit ;)

For me the new teams are .5 smaller than the new dragons.

I got a pair of the new black teams recently in the same size as i used to wear the old blue ones (8.5), weirdly they felt good out the box and first time breaking them in i could wear them for the whole session without much discomfort, which is a completely different story to the old ones (when i got a new pair, they'd take at least a month to break in to a point whereby i could wear them for more than half a session without ending up in crippling pain, and even then they'd still barely be broken in). Does anyone think the sizing's maybe changed a bit? In fairness the new ones feel just as tight but a lot more comfortable, could be the new rubber maybe?

I think the old teams used the same rubber but I agree about the new ones feeling more comfortable in the same size. I'd all but given up on finding a slipper with toe rubber after owning the old teams but the new ones seem to fit better. I can't really see much difference in shape when I hold them side by side though.

The heel doesn't fit me great but it's rarely a problem...

I went for the 8s and they seem 'OK' to get on, as in I don't need a plastic bag for help.

Once on, they're tight around my little toe but fairly comfortable elsewhere. I'm wondering if they really are just a good fit for my foot or whether I should've dropped 1/2 a size.

Thoughts?

I hate buying shoes online.
