County conditions
February 24, 2014, 09:14:17 am
How's it been in Northumberland of late? Thinking of heading through sometime this week as the forecast for the West is fecked as per usual this year. Any spots in particular to avoid or that have escaped the deluge? Would like to check out Hepburn as not been there but guessing back bowden may be in best nick??
Cheers

Anyone been out in the last few days: esp Back Bowden or the Woods?
Metoffice think it's dry today and tomorrow.

Might be out at Hepburn on weds - any issues with parts of it drying slowly there or is it likely to be OK?
Thanks,
T

In my experience the slowest drying bits are the Orthopaedic boulder (with the really good Rheumatology problem on it) as it's last to get the sun, and the Northern Soul boulder in the woods. It's pretty exposed up there though, and with the given forecast I think you'll be unlucky if it's all not in good condition.  Enjoy, it's a lovely spot.

Does anyone happen to know if the County Ethics bit of Back Bowden is dry? Thanks.

Not quite dry yesterday despite the wind. 1 metre below  The finish rail for the emperor is dry,  above is still wet.  Rest of crag dry and even the ground is drying up well.

Hepburn woods really really dry yesterday. Even Trivial Pursuits sloper was reasonable!
