Eccentric Finger Rolls

I've been doing eccentric elbow stuff for a while now--fairly succesful it would seem- no elbow issues since I've started despite training lock off, campusing .

Since the eccentric curls have gotten fairly heavy now without pain, one thing I've been trying is instead of just doing regular eccentric wrist curls, at the end of the rep i would slowly let the weight roll down my fingertips as they eccentrically open.
A kind of eccentric finger roll.

I'm not sure what it is but it does feel like it's working a soft tissue in a similar manner to the eccentric wrist curl portion, but not in the elbow.

Thoughts? Could this be a useful injury prevention for the fingers? if so what injury would it prevent?  Or is it just baloney?
