Google Chrome is giving malware warnings
June 17, 2013, 07:17:36 am
Google Chrome is giving me malware warnings about ukb since yesterday.

I am, perhaps stupidly, ignoring these and clicking through to the site anyway, but it's annoying and a little worrying. Perhaps needs some moderator / admin attention.

UPDATE: so is Safari

Are you using an adware/malware/spyware blocker add-on and still seeing these?

We are working on this right now.

The offending code has been removed so the site is safe to use.

Ok, we're confident that the issue is now fixed.

Not sure how long Chrome, etc are going to flag the site as malicious for though...

Was it just a false alarm or should we run Anti-Malware just in case?

Nothing on Opera (version 12.15, Build 1748) on GNU/Linux using AdblockPlus.

Can't hurt to do one just in case.

The code was some javascript downloaded from a 3rd party site. I've not looked at what it does but I might take a look at it via Sandboxie.

<edit> I've taken a look at the code that was being run and it appears to just an empty javascript file so I reckon it's unlikely that it's caused any damage; it was probably the site that it was hosted on being tagged as malicious. I could be totally mistaken of course, I'm not much of a techie these days.

#15 The Website Ahead Contains Malware!
June 17, 2013, 05:33:52 pm
I've started getting this message pop up every time I try to follow a link from google to this site, is anyone else getting this?

I'm slightly paranoid as I foolishly ran a torrent file without virus scanning it first and it turned out to be a virus. I have since removed the virus and am hoping that this is just a coincidence...

Random link for people to test: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CC4QFjAA&url=%2Finterstitial%3Furl%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fukbouldering.com%2Fboard%2Findex.php%253Ftopic%253D21039.0&ei=qja_Ua65Cs3iO6DdgOAK&usg=AFQjCNHifSKJ6sb_rpoZtNtdys25051wCg&sig2=AUek8zD06ftvGBy5NTjmsg&bvm=bv.47883778,d.ZWU

Or just search via google if you have a minute. Cheers!

Not the one that looks like the grip around a pull up bar at a 45 degree angle? I've always assumed that meant lots of tufa pulling...
