[Lines In The Sand][E6 6c][Summit Quarry]
April 30, 2013, 02:51:52 pm
OK before I start with the description and everything, lets be clear this is a completists tick seeking out a bit of new squeezed in climbing but...

Start as for Jaggernath but pretty much straight away head rightwards and upwards via a technical sequence to join Pylon Direct at the positive crack sidepull holds. Finish as for Pylon Direct.
F.A. Nik Jennings (unseconded, belayer Andy Tappa)

Again I tried to get some video footage but my micro gorilla pod what-not is really lacking in stability so I just got a nice smooth slow motion video of the crag disappearing off the bottom of the screen as the camera gradually tipped itself over backwards, I imagine it might be possible to hear the ascent to some extent but that isn't very interesting. However as a little Brucey bonus I did manage to get footage of Mister Tappa's attempt at Pylon Direct which ended slightly prematurely with a refusal and rapid dismount from the last hard move. Quite a distance fallen (but he walked away unharmed), I'll stick the video up later on (and a little topo of the lines).

Once again this is not a classic line but it does actually feature some pretty nice techy climbing, albeit of the sort that you need to go looking for if you know what I mean.

Pylon Direct doesn't look very direct.

Pylon Direct is excellent, it is definitely THE line there. It feels pretty direct when you climb it and is quality.
Jaggernath and Responsible Parenting are both good. Lines In The Sand is nice enough climbing but essentially is just a way for me to keep GCW busy.

How about starting up Jaggernath and finishing up Responsible Parenting? Link up cave stylings. Good work though, keep on crimping!

Not worth starting another thread as it's a link-up but I did the start of Pylon Direct into the finish of Responsible Parenting today. Probably worth E6, nice climbing warble warble. I just did it so GCW has to keep amending the gritlist, it's a filler-in-link-up-line which would logically be called Pylon Parenting (E6 6c) I guess?
Managed to record this without a tripod falling incident so I may pop a vid up here later for the truly bored...

At least there's no grit where you're going.

I've just checked and the gritlist does go down to E5 so, just for GCW, here's another Summit filler-in:

Sam I Am (E5 6c)
From the start of Pylon Direct climb up and leftwards via a nice technical sequence to join Jaggernath for the move to the big slot below the break.

Yes, and when are you going to flash Nyan Cat at Cow's Mouth?  ;D

You'll cruise it I'm sure, and I reckon you might get E4 now the snow's gone.
