Shiner & split skin
February 01, 2015, 06:32:40 pm
What's the recovery period for a proper rainbow black eye and a full depth split of the skin?

I have a couple of things where I'm representing the firm in a few weeks and could do without looking like I've been on the wrong side of a scrap?

{injuries caused slipping on ice and twatting my head on a stone bench}

depends who started it, but even if he's got previous he could be out in a couple of weeks on one of those cash-for-non-offending schemes

Mrs Sloper may have some suitable covering make up...

Don't forget to post a photo of you all-glammed-up in the missus' slap.

Or just drink a sufficient quantity of brandy that it evens up the colour on your countenance.

Sorry. Absolutely nothing useful to add.

I would go pirate and maybe have a glass eye in my waistcoat pocket and say if asked about the patch " it's the old war wound getting infected and Iv'e had to take it out for a bit. Then start tossing the glass eye up and down.

Yup two to three weeks before all trace is gone. Longer if your skin is past its prime.

BTW your horseradish recipe worked a treat, thanks for that.

Get some regular icing on it asap, that should at least sort out the bruising a bit quicker!!  Maybe put a plaster on the split at night time.

Cheers, it should be aright then.  It's got a lot more colourful over the last two days and interestingly the heaviest bruising is away from the point of impact.

I think 21 years is far too long for bruising to present.

Bruising is bleeding under the skin. Gravity causes the bruising to move downhill.

Yes, but there's no bruising down from the point of impact (i.e. the wound) which is between the end of the eye and the ear lobe, but there's heavy bruising in the corner of the eye (i.e. near the nose)

Not a lot you can do really. You're pretty limited by the natural turn over rate of your skin. Any swelling should go over a few days. Get some concealer cream.

YEP.

You are old, blood tracks through fascial planes. You and Ru know this.  ( crim timelines  on actual violence etc,.. ) The blood flow to your skin, not the turnover is the limiter. Get some cover up. Get a female of the species to sort this, or you will end up looking like a drag queen... pics plz...

Can we start a whip round to bribe Mrs Sloper to be 'creative' with the concealer? ;)
