and this bike rack

apologies for not getting any proper internal pics yet, I'll need a hand moving seats back into place because I am a useless cripple

mpg...

typically I get 15mpg doing gentle town driving in Sheffield (hills), less if I drive like BA Baracus. how you drive these things makes a huge difference to fuel use

fully laden with 4 people, baby equipment, 2 weeks worth of shit and 3 bikes on the back I did 350 miles on the motorway on 65 litres of LPG traveling at 60ish mph (cruise control) doing very little overtaking- that's about 24mpg

with the middle seats out (heavy fuckers) and just me and pads and travelling at 56mph, I can squeeze a bit more out of it . but still not the 30mpg that some people claim (maybe possible on petrol instead of LPG)

wind resistance is significant, so speeds over 65mph give noticeably worse mpg

some stuff written here

http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,16645.0.html

LPG tank takes 65 litres
I think the petrol tank takes 100 litres
so it could be possible to do 900 miles without stopping for fuel - that's Sheffield to Chamonix, or Dover to Font and back (with some forest driving) - worth thinking about for the next time that there's a fuel shortage in France

it goes without saying that LH drive makes driving in the rest of Europe very easy

that bike rack could hold quite a few bouldering pads - and with 7 people sharing the fuel costs, you could have a rather good font trip...

you can't take LPG vehicles through The Tunnel

Norfolk Line ferries let this van, with bike rack, go on for normal car price

I have a French LPG connector/adapter to go with the van

one of the contributing factors to not having this as our only car is that on classic car insurance it is now difficult (expensive) to get cover for work use (having your mileage paid and that sort of thing)- I do occasionally have to use a car for work (so that I can get back in time to collect kids etc) - I've opted for private use only (£438 fully comp inc European cover and basic RAC)

obviously driving to and from your usual place of work is not a problem

phone MCE insurance to get a quote to help you decide

I'd be surprised if it was possible to insure drivers under 25

right - sorted some photos

I was surprised to find that mileage is actually less than 69k

flank

cockpit

flight instruments - can toggle between miles and km (for Font trips etc)

mileage

dash

passenger seats

drinks cabinet

middle seats left facing forward, rear seats down (crash pad carrying mode) - big enough for me to sleep diagonally

full bed down - middle seats turned round - proper comfy

does my bum look big in this?

side door

one seat out (both lift out easily)

power sofa controls

one of the many storage holes

I'll go out when it's dark to get some shots of the "mood lighting"

I also have the clothes rail that goes in the back - ideal for keeping the tux/ball gown ready for the after party

24 mpg is very good for fully loaded on LPG.....LPG fucks MPG so far up the arse it needs a crowbar to get out.

Plenty of speakers there!

I heard that on these engines it doesn't make such a big difference - I haven't felt like doing a long journey on petrol just for the sake of comparison

The difference between the petrol and lpg mpg in one of these vans  is pretty negligible on a long journey ........ The difference in cost, however, is massive ........

Now we just need the shot of Lagers in the buff, greased up with Mazola, lounging under the mood lights. Surely we gave enough plywood that you can build a ramp to get you up onto that plush leather bed/rutting area in the back of the van Lagers....

I would like to express my gratitude to Percy (& The Works) for donating ply and to Grumpy for using it to build me an access ramp for my mobility scooter.

I will send Percy a photo as requested - for personal use only. I may grant permission for it to be used in the ladies changing room at The Works.

Grumpy can feel safe in the knowledge that he need never see such a photo.

gone  :wavecry:

I am now the proud owner of a beige Citroen Xsara Picasso (12 months blah blah, full history etc) - if you're going to go bland, you might as well do it properly - this is the most stealth chav-taxi in the hood - even I can't locate it on the street, let alone in Asda's car park

I also have enough money left over to get drunk for a month - although I am told that this may be ringfenced for the Fund for Moving Into a Significantly Better School Catchment

another positive thing is... well there isn't one really
