Vimeo embedding

The new Vimeo site defaults to https which the forums don't seem to like, remove the 's' and everythings fine.

Is it possible to tweak the module that embeds videos to account for this?

Is it worth moving to the new Vimeo site, I've not bothered yet?

Defaults to https to make the connection secure :clown:

Not masses different really, moved a few things around, default video size is kind of like the old couch mode, general theme/apperance is white based.

Much of a muchness really, but at least they haven't made it a complete eyesore like Googles attempt to redesign Gmail. :chair:

Well I've tried to get this to work - I've updated the addon with the https:// code but it just won't embed.

Somebody who knows a lot more than me about this addon said on the Simple Machines forums:

it may not embed, because embedding a secure link in a separate domain would fail security checks

Not a great answer but it may explain why I can't get it to work. As the Vimeo https thang is quite recent I might wait until somebody else solves the issue rather than try to pursue it any further now.

Its possible it may not be an issue, as it may be that 'https' is being used for those who are trying the new site, and 'http' for those using the old.  Perhaps if/when the switch is made to the new site format they'll be 'http'.

Don't know if that'll be the case but I was perhaps a little hasty in requesting tweaks.

I didn't for ages fearing that they'd screw it up, but then finally did and have no regrets.  Not hugely different as has been said, they haven't screwed up anything that was good before, and the 'following' system works a lot better now.  Used to be a bit of a faff to find stuff that I'd followed or liked or subscribed to or whatever, now it's a lot better and this coupled with an optional youtube-style related videos tab makes it very easy to sit and watch climbing footage indefinitely.
