Are you taking the piss, you know it would get a Font grade, maybe as much as 6a+.

Anyone know any random Spannish types and can lend me some Accrapi.

 ::) How remiss of me.

Has anyone ever done snowballing on Southern Sandstone? Now might be a good time if not.

Conditions update Thursday 9th.
I got out for a stroll yesterday, and had a scout about.
Basically the rock was bone dry and warm to the touch, but we need some snow shifting while its still soft.  Since the weather forecast is cool and stable, anything that gets built should last for ages.

Burbage S - lots more snow than last time- but will need a bit of moving. I want Above and Beyond

Burbage N - buried- excellent potential
Three blind mice looks as good as last year. Ai no Corrida looks better

the Promise

Nefertiti - this looks easy to get sorted, a big bank at the base.

Sphinx is nearly 100% dry.

Stanage - Loads of snow on the Edge. topouts fairly corniced.

Shine on - not as much snow as last year - but lots that can be easily moved

Plantation - cleared the top of Cres Arete, Big Air-this can easily be made safe now.
Archangel  had a fair bit of snow underneath.

looked like careless Torque had been done
Roads - to Fox House is clear
to Burbage from rininglow is white - fine in a 4x4 or with chains, probably possible without.
burbage to stanage - buried under 4 foot drifts- but being cleared
hathersage to stanage - white- probably impossible without 4x4

I'll be off out to do some shovelling at 2pm tomoro, if anyone fancies it.

The Promise looks Promising. If you are stelly fingered enough.

Hack it about a bit as soon as. Mini thaw forecast for the weekend as soon as it gets soft and freezes again it will be a bugger to shift.

I've got the afternoon off work so should be able to help out if you let me know where you're heading.

Also keen for Above and Beyond and Nerfertiti

Good work Dan! Not sure which forecast you've seen, but the snow will be a bugger to move now with this thaw. Some of those indeed look better than last year, though its worth bearing in mind some of those platforms involved serious spadework. Be good to dump some cornices asap and let the tops dry out a bit.

Froggat yesterday
Mint 400 - dry and well platformed.
Narcisus - bit of a platform, some meltwater from the top
Excellent potential for the following things - Geordie Ewoks (I cleared the snow off top but needs work on landing), Our Soles/Soul Power, Slinshot, Chequers Groove, Long John's LH, Dogs Die in Hot Cars, Benign Lives. Some of these will take more work than others.
Generally the melt is setting in and and folk need to get on it asap if they are going to sort stuff. The uncompacted snow is disappearing fairly quick, once the snow is in a big compact pile it takes a good while to melt.

Was at Stanage on Sunday, other than the stuff that was doable in Feb, most of which could be doable this time, there is potential on Wall of Sound and things at Apparent North.
Again early spade work is called for.

We parked on the bend last Sunday and 'dug in' a little bit, just in front of the gate. There were 3 cars parked there. I would imagine it's fine now. Others parked down the road near the Chequers (but not in their car park itself as they were arsey about that).

Just back from a very wild Burbage North. Platforms dug and ready to go... very warm up there but hopefully will cool before it all melts.

my weather forecasting mate says there's going to be more carnage next week as the cold air reloads and comes back for round two, so you'll be good I reckon..

To enlarge on what JB said the following have all got pretty good landings beneath them:

Nerfertiti
Superstition
Puck
Ai No Corrida
Three Blind Mice

Probably still worth taking a shovel as there's still a bit of a gap down the back of TBM.

That seems to be the case. Get them sorted before it all freezes solid and then gets some more on top.

Good luck, guys, but I fear you may be too late.

Just driven back through the Peak.  5.5 degrees at 2300 and water everywhere.

I can't believe how fast this mega-dump of snow has disappeared....
