Goal - do my first VIII, 8a, 8A, E8, in 2010.
At - IX, 8a, 7C, E5.
Goal for November: headpoint My Piano, work High Life.

m. nowt.
t. nowt.
w. Drytooling at whitegoods. Good workout.
t. nowt
f. nowt.
s. Drytooling at whitegoods. Had a bug and felt tired and a bit shit.
s. Couple of routes on Pen Trwyn, still feeling shitty.

Quietest week in ages, had a bug, and not been able to rockclimb since twatting collateral ligament 10 days ago. Slowly healing. At least the drytooling's getting me fitter for winter.

M: nothing
T: Circuits on board, v average session
W: nothing
T: Circuits on board, v average session
F: nothing
S: actually go climbing!!! Shipley Glen for the first time, do about 25 problems, all very easy. Am nervous about falling off onto my knee and climb clunkily but improve a little with the day. Just so good to be out.
S; nothing

Mediocre week redeemed by the sheer pleasure of actually going climbing.

ps. most days do push ups and some form of core as well.

STG: Onsight E3, boulder 7a+, be able to do one armers again, learn to aid climb properly
MTG: E4, Go to Yosemite and don't completely punt it up
LTG: E7, 8a

Mon: Zilch
Tues: Wicklow. 5 hours exploratory wander in the rain. Quite productive. See lots of quality undone problems and find an unclimbed on crag. Will be heading back with a rope and brush when the weather drys out a bit.
Wed: Zip
Thurs: Beastmaker. Repeaters.
Fri: Nowt
Sat: Pullups and pushups. Got quite drunk at GF's housewarming.
Sun: Bleurgh

Felt some weird nerve tingling in my left arm about 270 reps into my pullup set, so will lay off for a while. Weather is well grim so next week will probably consist of more training and exploration.

Oh dear. After a good bouldering/circuits session at Ingleton on Tuesday I then buggered my finger an hour into a bouldering session at Kendal on Thursday evening - it certainly made quite an impressive noise!

No climbing for me for at least a couple of weeks.   :(

STGs (this winter): Highball the old-school E5s of Tierdrop, Suavito, Art of White Hat Wearing, Chip Shop Brawl & Sole Power.

MTG (next summer): 8a sport route.

M: Board session in the garage

T: 2 hour session at the Works. Managed to tick all the purple / pink spot circuit

W: Board session in garage

T: Works again. Trying the wasp circuit but feeling a bit tired so cut the session short.

S: After warming up at Froggatt went to have a look at The Art of White Hat Wearing. Found it easier than I was expecting and dispatched it in half a dozen goes or so. Sweet.

S: Gardoms South. Warmed up and had a few gos on China in Your Hands but was mainly there to try Suavito. After a few tries sorting out my whack sequence low down I soon found myself eyeing up the slap for the top. Hit the top but didn't stick it. Two gos later it was in the bag.

Not a bad week really. 40% of my short term goals done, think the others might put up more of a fight though. Also might add a few more to the list like the Sphinx / Jumpin' on a Beetle but we'll see how it goes.

Can't recommend TAOWHW or Suavito enough. Both perfectly safe with pads / spotters and among some of the finest problems I've ever done.

Thanks - Although I am starting to worry that if this trend continues I might need to start setting my sights a little higher!!

Gotta get back on the horse....... Now back from Italy with a grand total of zero decent ticks but some good memories

Few weeks doing stuff including:

1. Eating Pizza and Pasta (Italy innit)
2. Drinking
3. Sightseeing
4. Chasing 3 yearold
5. Climbing badly
6. Eating Icecream (see point 1)
7. Socialising (Simon and Matt I salute thee)   :beer2:
8. Bouldering indoors (see point 5 for performance gauge)

This last week:

Wasps at the works on Thursday... Tweaked neck on campusboard - Fucked off to London for more points 1 and 2.

Thought I might get out today but looking out the window at 7am sorted that right out!

This week...

Aim: Do quality training and get strong/fit, climb well on grit.

Probably: Go t'works a couple of times, potter about on me own, get fed up, go home and do DIY... Go to Stanage and get rained off.

Gerrrrtchhhaaa!!!!

:D

Good effort, Sphinx & JOAB are on my hit list too so could be good for a Friday afternoon hit (looking ok for this week at the moment).

Can't recommend TAOWHW or Suavito enough. Both perfectly safe with pads / spotters and among some of the finest problems I've ever done.

good sendage yesterday chris. if you rate those probs, then i'd recommend both My Apple at Rowtor and Spike at Bamford as highbally type problems at a similar standard. and you should be trying something harder.... ;)

Thanks. My Apple is definitely another one I'm keen for - it looks mint. Can't find any mention of Spike in the guidebook - whereabouts at Bamford is it?

Hmmm....maybe Western Eyes needs to go on the list......we shall see.

Almost couldn't be bothered to post. Very busy, very unpsyched and generally a bit whiney. Not big or clever.
Did get out to Cheddar on Sat, I climbed badly but I did very much enjoy the company and day out.

Floor to lay this week.  Once that gets done the BIG tasks are over. There may actually be an end in sight.

Big fat fuck all, still feeling a bit shitty. Bugger...

Oh yeah:
8b+, 8B

STG - Buck my fucking ideas up.

I think you should go back to the lego routine...

And a massive  :great:  to Nai for west side story, that's a dream tick for me.

You've got to keep your eye on him. I bet he's making spaceships and diggers left right and centre, but only posting his climbing training. Sneaky fucker.

I did actually build as fucking awesome digger yesterday, Dylan was well impressed (although he did insist on me turning it into a backhoe).

Fri. 3x25 pressups.
Sat 3x25 press ups.out on my bike 2 hrs 20 mins felt okish not coughing up loads of flem like rest of week.
Sun.froggat ended up near renegade master on the 2 problems on the undercut nose.spent ages doing the start with duff sequeance before finding an easier way then too knacked to link it.also made the rooky error of jumping on to sloping wet grass in rock shoes.back a bit fucked.

I apologise for my sloppy recording of events. "Dylan" was referring to my three year old son rather than the hold making, training guru, all round ray of sunshine, regular poster on this forum.

Whilst you have technically made a digger. I dispute the fact its 'fucking awesome' In fact I think its lame. Pink drive belts and very poor aesthetics. In addition the weight distribution is cleary all over the shop and it would be about as much use as a kitten for digging out proper holes. Therefore you are a liar, and all of your power club claims are highly suspect.

 ;)

Whilst I note your comments it is worth mentioning that both the aesthetics and weight distribution weaknesses were highlighted in the video as points for improvement.
I have subsequently adjusted the wheelbase of the digger and it now remains stable when moving the digger arm through the full range of its movement (I can supply photographic evidence of this claim). This isn't to suggest that the digger wasn't previously fucking awesome, it obviously was, it's just EVEN MORE FUCKING AWESOME now.
As for the "pink drive belts" I'm not sure what you are talking about here? The digger doesn't have any drive belts, that would be obvious to be anyone with even a rudimetary understanding of it's workings. I can only assume you are referring to the elastic bands used cause the friction effect which allows the digger arm to be pose-able in any position of its two movement arcs, thus allowing it to mimic the the hydraulic jacks as used in a full scale digger. This was a compromise made due to the absence of a suitably scaled hydraulic unit and associated powerplant (traditionally a diesel unit in a digger but that would be impractical at this scale so an electric alternative would probably need to be sourced). I feel that whilst working within the confines of the materials available to me I have maintained the "fucking awesome"ness of the digger. And anyway the elastic bands are in reality a particularly manly shade of red not pink, I think there may be some issue with colour reproduction in the video.
The aesthetic weakness is more problematic given my limited supply of blocks, I can only apologise. Just imagine how fucking awesome it would have been if I'd had all the blocks I wanted? Food for thought indeed my friend...

 ;D

OK, so they're pink friction belts then -  and good idea modding the wheelbase...

but man, its got wheels! no tracks??

You gotta admit its more Kinder than Tonka....  ;)

anyway, your vid doesnt prove that you made it!  :P
