New topo app for the Bowderstone
October 13, 2010, 04:44:20 pm
using the same platform as the Minus 10 topo, the Bowderstone version of the app is through the App Store and available for download for iPhone users.

more info on the site http://www.thesend.co.uk/apps/bowderstone.php where 'droids can also download their version.

many thanks to GregC for letting me use his LakesBloc PDF guide as a template

I had a great idea for an app but do not have the skills do be able to make it:
A beastmaker app. Obviously would need beastmaker permission but could have such awesome features as:
Built in round timer
Programmable routine so you can just tell it to tell you what you should be holding!
Recording feature to tell you what you have previously done
Some method for uploading this valuable data to a computer.
 :please:

looking at the documentation online, I think I just need to pay google some money to get access and then upload it, I was keen to test it on a few devices first though, that side of things seems OK so just a couple of minor tweaks and I'll run them both through. Thanks for the testing and feedback btw, much appreciated

thanks :)  I'm working on a [foc] kalymnos guide at the moment to raise money for the local bolt-fund and I've spoken to ArranD about craig y longridge, but I really ought to get the topo tools finished so that peeps can start producing their own from the site.

A beastmaker app.

:goodidea: there are some desktop pc timer apps available which give you basic timer-delay-timer-delay x reps type of functionality (TimB showed me one he was using) - but adding some beastliess should spice things up a bit, I'll add it to the list

Great effort. The future of guidebook publishing has arrived early!

How about Almscliff? A Cliff guide would really shift some units. I've seen quite a few folk up there trying to read Yorkshiregrit pages on their mobiles. Millions (almost literally) of eliminates and no current guide that covers them effectively.

Probably easier to set up for less disparate areas (I know da cliff isnt that bad) - such as the Cave of Righteous Justiceness...
